Water – Essential for Health

Water is the main component in the body. Our body is comprised of 70% of water. Each person should intake about 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. It may seen to be excessive, but we lose water through sweat, breathe and urine. Lack of water results in dehydration and if we are dehydrated, we cannot breathe properly as our lungs need moisture to function. Apart from this, dehydration leads to headaches and feeling lightheaded. The low consume of water every day, also leads to excess gain in body fat and poor muscle tone.

Drinks to be avoided

Al the drinks which contains excess amount of sugar should be avoided. Sugar equals the calories and if the calorie is not burn, it might turn into fat cells which result in weight gain. Some of the drinks to be avoided are sodas, energy drinks, slurpees and frappuccinos. The drinks that should be consumed in moderate level includes alcoholic and caffeinated (e.g. coffee and soda). Most of the people think that these drinks quench their thirst, but the actual fact is these beverages speed up the elimination of fluid from the body which can result in dehydration. Some of the people avoid water due to lack of flavor, strange odour or taste. These kinds of people can add some natural flavor to your water for example some slices of lemon. This makes the water very tasty and refreshing. Water helps to detoxify the body and also reduces the appearance of cellulite. Therefore, water is important for life and it should be consumed in abundance.
